Project Overview

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and its consultant, DOWL, are designing the Amsterdam Road Intersection Improvements project. This project will enhance roadway safety features by addressing intersection-related crashes at two sites along Amsterdam Road near Belgrade by installing traffic signals at the intersection of Amsterdam Road and River Rock Road, and improving turn-lane configurations at the intersection of Amsterdam Road and Green Belt Drive. The planned lane improvements include an eastbound left-turn lane on Amsterdam Road, and reconstructed right-turn lanes to meet current design standards. Amsterdam Road from River Rock Road to Thorpe Road is also planned to be widened to three lanes. A portion of this work is included in the Belgrade Intersection Improvements project.
