Montana Airports
Montana has approximately 120 public use airports located across the state in every county, except Wibaux. Montana also has a large number of private use airports. Private use airport registration in Montana is voluntary, however, we estimate that Montana has over 450 active private use airstrips.
Runway conditions at our various airports are as diverse as Montana's landscape. Because local conditions can make landing hazardous, we highly encourage airport users to thoroughly research the airport that they are flying into. Fuel and services at airports also widely vary and changes may not be published on time. Because of this, we also recommend that you check carefully to make sure that you have adequate fuel for an alternate location if unsure about availability. Flying in Montana can be fun, but it is always smart to be prepared. Carry a survival bag!
