Main Street Billings
Public Involvement
Effective public involvement is vital to good decision making. It allows MDT to deliver transportation solutions that improve safety and efficiency, protect natural and human environments, contribute to community vitality, and improve quality of life. Engaging with the public early and throughout the project development and construction is key to MDT's mission.
The Main Street Billings Improvement Project includes rehabilitation of approximately 3 miles of Main Street (US Hwy 312) in Billings from just east of the 1st Avenue S/Exposition Drive intersection (the edge of the Metra Park south boundary) to the intersection of Main with Bench Blvd/US 287 in the heights (the Roundup turn off).
Construction is expected to take one full season (2021), resulting in completion the fall/early winter of 2021. There will be no construction during the week of Montana Fair (August 2021).
Currently, it is anticipated that we will be hosting a meeting as part of one or more Heights Task Force meetings and presenting information to the Heights Business Association at one or more of their meetings. Those meetings will be announced to membership in weekly emails and member updates and newsletters. Any additional meetings will be announced in local newspapers and/or through emails/texts.
If you'd like to be included in the project email or text update list, please contact Becky Bey, Public Information Officer, at or 406-698-3668.
