Project Overview
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) partnered with Riverside Contracting, Inc., to complete Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades in Bridger. The project includes ADA-compliant sidewalks, ramps, approaches, as well as installing new signage along Main Street from Park Avenue, extending through town and ending south of Carbon Avenue.
Construction began in spring of 2025 and completion is expected in fall 2025. To enhance safety and accessibility for all users, the ADA improvements include 27 ADA corner ramps, 16 reconstructed approaches, and approximately 1,200 square feet of new sidewalks.
November 3, 2025 Construction Update
Construction on the Bridger ADA Upgrades project is nearing completion with final construction activities expected to be completed in the coming weeks, depending on weather and other unforeseen factors.
Completed work:
- All concrete work has been completed, including reconstructed approaches, corner ramps, and new sidewalks.
- All signage has been replaced.
Upcoming work:
- Roadway striping and curb painting are expected to begin within the next couple of weeks.

Billings District ADA Upgrades
The Bridger ADA phase is one section of the Billings District ADA Upgrades project, which also includes improvements in the Lewistown and Billings communities. As a part of MDT’s statewide effort to improve pedestrian facilities across Montana, this project is bringing sidewalks in each of these communities into compliance with current ADA standards, allowing greater accessibility for all.
