Montana Department of Transportation Invites Public to Cast Votes for Bonner Bridges Endcap Design

On August 6 endcap design options were unveiled to the public for the Bonner Bridges project on Interstate 90. The bridges spanning the Blackfoot River are being fully reconstructed by the Montana Department of Transportation over a two-year period with the intention of improving river safety and fish habitat. The $15 million project will deliver much needed safety upgrades to the aging structures and is slated to be complete in November 2019.

Attendees at an August 6 open house for the Bonner Bridges project were able to cast their votes for the logo that will adorn the end of the bridge piers.

Endcap designs were developed during a workshop hosted by the Montana Department of Transportation in June 2018. Participants representing the Bonner-Milltown and Missoula communities, as well as the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribes helped develop the designs. The open house was the first time logo options were unveiled to the public.
