Maintenance Techs (Permanent, Full Time)

This position performs a variety of work as a laborer, lead worker, equipment operator and truck driver for highway maintenance activities. The Maintenance Technician operates a variety of equipment, including trucks, to perform regular maintenance activities such as ditch cleaning, patching, overlays, fence repairs, lawn mowing and material or equipment transportation. In winter, loads sanding material and does snow removal and sanding. Responsible for overall functional operation of machines including preoperational checking, scheduled servicing, and adding fluids, and changing pins, cutting edges, etc. Performs related work as required.

Maintenance Techs (Permanent, Seasonal)

This position works 40 hours per week during the winter season, depending on the weather and needs of the section. Scheduled shifts range from 4:00am to 10:00pm, with around the clock scheduled coverage for most of the winter. Must be available for emergency weather conditions and be able to work weekends and holidays as needed. A permanent seasonal employee is a benefits-eligible employee year-round, but is only activated to work during the winter season. The season typically begins mid-November and ends in March (weather dependent).
