November 2013 - All construction on the Whitefish West Project that will affect traffic in any way, will cease for the season at the end of the day Friday November 15th. The temporary bridge will be removed this winter but that will not affect traffic flow. Construction will resume in spring 2014.
Until construction ends for the season, crews will be working on both sides of the bridge. Lane closures and reduced speeds will be effect, minimal delays should be expected.
The temporary bridge is in use. Motorists should expect one lane, two-way traffic and minimal delays. There will be limited on-street parking allowed in the construction zone east of the Whitefish River Bridge. Areas of closure will be signed accordingly.
Motorists are encouraged to adjust their schedules and reminded to watch for work crews and equipment as well as signs indicating reduced speed limits. Posted limits are enforced until signs indicate that the work zone has ended. Fines double in work zones.
