Proposed Deck Rehabilitation Work On Fred Robinson Bridge

Grass Range, Lewistown, Malta MT - The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to
comment on a proposal to rehabilitate the Missouri River bridge deck.
The bridge is known as the Fred Robinson Bridge and is located on
Highway US-191, approximately 39 miles north of Grass Range. The
bridge is near the James Kipp Recreation Area.

Proposed work
includes repairing or replacing the bridge deck, upgrading bridge
approach rail, repairing/replacing joints and other minor work. The
purpose of the project is to improve the bridge deck and prolong the
life of the bridge. Single lane traffic or detours may be possible
during construction.

The project is tentatively planned for
construction in 2024, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. New right-of-way
and utility relocations are not anticipated at this time. MDT staff
will contact all affected landowners prior to doing survey work on
their land.

An important part of properly planning for future
projects is partnering with the community. The Montana Department of
Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on
the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at or in writing to Montana
Department of Transportation, Billings office at PO Box 20437,
Billings, MT 59104-0437. Please note that comments are for project
UPN 8542002.
