Replacement Of Damaged Fences Along I 15 North Of Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek, Montana The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal
to replace fence along I 15 between Wolf Creek and Craig damaged by
wildfires in 2021.

The project begins in Lewis & Clark County on I
15 approximately two miles northeast of Wolf Creek at the Rock Creek
Drainage and extends northeast for approximately three miles ending
just south of Craig. The purpose of this project is to prevent
unauthorized and unsafe entry to the access-controlled Interstate
highway by vehicles, pedestrians, or livestock. This also reduces the
potential of an animal/vehicle collision occurring with livestock.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction December 2021,
depending on completion of all project development activities,
successful award of a contract, and the contractor's ability to
secure the materials on short notice. The intent is to have the
project completed by April of 2022. No new Right-of-Way or utility
relocations will be needed.

An important part of properly planning
for future projects is partnering with the community. The Montana
Department of Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and
comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at
http://www.mdt.mt.gov/mdt/comment_form.shtml or in writing to Montana
Department of Transportation, Great Falls office at PO Box 1359,
Great Falls, MT 59403-1359. Please note that comments are for
project UPN 10089000.

The public is encouraged to contact Great
Falls District Administrator Jim Wingerter at (406) 454-5897 or
District Preconstruction Engineer Jim Combs at (406) 788-2773 with
questions or concerns.
