Trail Creek Bridge Closure On Hwy 43 Postponed Due To Fire

Planned Trail Creek Bridges closure on Highway 43 postponed due to

WISDOM- The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) has
postponed the planned closure of Highway 43 to replace the Trail
Creek Bridges near the May Creek Campground as a result of the Trail
Creek Fire until further notice. The wildfire is currently burning on
both the north and south sides of the highway, and is in excess of
23,000 acres in size.

Future bridge work and planned road closures
will be determined by the status of the wildfire. MDT will continue
prioritizing access to fire crews in the area until it's safe to
resume work on the Trail Creek Bridges project.

"The planned road
closure has been postponed to allow the Forest Service access to the
fire area," said MDT Engineering Project Manager Jeff Harrison.
"Public safety is our highest priority. We are coordinating with
local fire agencies and will reschedule the bridge closures when its
safe and appropriate to do so."
