Proposed Pavement Preservation On W. Broadway In Missoula
Missoula, Montana - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal
to resurface about 5.5 miles of roadway on W. Broadway/Old U.S.
Highway 10 west of Missoula. The project begins at the southern
portion of the Desmet Interchange and extends southeast ending near
the Reserve Street overpass over W. Broadway.
includes milling the roadway and adding new asphalt overlay with a
chip seal. Other work includes guardrail updates, new signage, and
pavement markings. The purpose of the project is to preserve the
existing pavement and extend the service life of the existing asphalt
Construction is tentatively planned for 2025 depending on
completion of design and availability of funds. New right-of-way and
relocation of utilities will be required to correct an encroachment
of the roadway within MRL railroad property. MDT staff will contact
all affected landowners prior to doing survey work on their land.

property acquisition and temporary construction permits.
