Proposed Intersection Improvements On North 7th Ave. Bozeman

Bozeman, Montana - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal
to improve signal timing, update ADA sidewalk corners, and improve
intersection streets at signalized intersections along N. 7th Avenue
between Mendenhall and Oak Street in Bozeman.

Proposed work includes
improving and updating traffic signals, upgrading intersection
corners to meet ADA accessibility of curb ramps, minor shoulder
widening on Oak Street and Peach Street, and installation of a left
turn lane. The project will also include addition of ADA push buttons
and signage and striping improvements. The purpose of the project is
to improve the traffic operations along N. 7th Avenue by addressing
vehicle movements and phasing on the intersecting streets.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2023 depending on completion
of design and availability of funds. New right-of-way and relocation
of utilities will be required. MDT staff has contacted all affected
landowners prior to conducting survey work on their land. Staff will
again contact landowners prior to construction regarding property
acquisition and temporary construction permits.

An important part of
properly planning for future projects is partnering with the
community. The Montana Department of Transportation welcomes the
public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project.
