Bridge Work Begins On Bridger Canyon Drive
Bozeman, Montana - Construction crews will begin working on
replacement of a bridge on Bridger Canyon Drive/Montana Route 86 the
week of April 5, 2021. The schedule may be affected by weather. The
project is located approximately nine miles east of Bozeman. Traffic
will be detoured beginning the week of April 5th as crews begin
bridge removal. The detour around the project will consist of a
gravel surface, 12 feet wide with signage. The tentative completion
date is May 2021.
EXPECT THE FOLLOWING TRAFFIC IMPACTS DURING THE
- Traffic will be detoured through the project
Detour will be a gravel surface
- Expect 25 mph speed limit
throughout the project
- Expect delays of approximately 15 minutes
- At certain times, traffic may be alternating one-way, controlled by
a temporary traffic signal
- There will be a 14-foot width
- A motorcycle advisory will be in effect. Motorcyclists
should consider an alternate route

priority during construction," said Paul Cogley P.E., Engineering
Project Manager/Construction, Montana Department of Transportation.
"The traveling public should pay close attention to signage near the
project area as conditions can change during construction."
