S Of Stevensville Safety Improvements Construction Begins

STEVENSVILLE, Montana - The Montana Department of Transportation
(MDT) and FirstMark Construction are hosting a virtual open house on
Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the South of
Stevensville Safety Improvements Project set to break ground this
month. The public and media are invited to engage directly with the
planning, design and construction team that will be improving US 269
between Pine Hollow Road and North Birch Creek Road to make the road
safer for motorists and pedestrians.

"We want to see everyone at the
open house because it is part of our commitment to keep the community
informed of road work happening in your backyard," MDT Missoula
District Construction Engineer, John Schmidt, said. "Public
involvement is critical to our decision making and will make for
stronger, safer communities."

Attendees will have an opportunity to
learn more about the project and to ask the project team questions to
ensure all are informed of the project's impacts prior to
construction. The open house will be conducted via Zoom. Registration
for the April 7 event is required and can be completed here:

Designed to save lives and prevent
serious crashes, improvements along US 269 include widened roadway
shoulders, flattened slopes off the edge of the road, new flashing
lights, guardrail replacements, pavement markings and roadway
signage.
