Bridge Rehab Work Proposed In Four Locations Near Billings

Billings, Montana - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal
to rehabilitate four bridge decks. The four locations include: US 212
over Rock Creek 1-mile west of Joliet, Secondary 416 (S. Billings
Blvd.) over the Yellowstone River near Billings, Hwy 78 over the
Yellowstone River near Columbus, and Secondary 522 (Northern Avenue)
over Huntley Canal near Huntley.

Proposed work includes resurfacing
or replacing the bridge decks, upgrading the bridge guardrail,
repairing or replacing joints, sealing bridge decks, and some road
work to create a smooth tie-in with the roadway. The purpose of the
project is to improve surface condition of the bridge decks and
prolong the functional life of existing bridges.

The project is
tentatively scheduled for construction beyond the 2025 construction
season; however, should funding become available, the project may be
scheduled earlier. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be
needed.

An important part of properly planning for future projects
is partnering with the community. The Montana Department of
Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on
the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at
www.mdt.mt.gov/mdt/comment_form.shtml or in writing to Montana
Department of Transportation, Billings office at PO Box 20437,
Billings, MT 59104-0437. Please note that comments are for project
UPN 9552001.
