Proposed Resurfacing Project MT Highway 1 East Of Anaconda
ANACONDA, Montana (September 15, 2020) — The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to
comment on a proposal to resurface about 7.1 miles of MT Highway 1 ,
east of Anaconda. The project begins at the I-90 Anaconda
Interchange, at reference post 0.015 and extends west for 7.0 miles
ending near N Polk Street in Anaconda at (reference post 7.1).
Proposed work includes a seal and cover (chip seal), upgraded
pavement markings, and guardrail. The purpose of the project is to
extend the service life of the roadway, provide additional skid
resistance, and take a cost-effective action to preserve and maintain
the existing roadway.
The project is tentatively scheduled for
construction in 2021, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
