Proposed Curve Reconstruction northeast of St. Xavier
MONTANA (May 7, 2020) — The Montana Department of Transportation
(MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a
proposal to reconstruct about 1 mile of Highway 313, northeast of St.
Xavier. The project begins at reference post 22.1 and extends
southwest for 1 mile ending at reference post 23.1.
includes curve realignment on this segment to enhance safety. The new
section will include widener shoulders and flatter slopes next to the
roadway. The purpose of the project is to limit roadway departure
and enhance safety for the traveling public.
tentatively planned for 2023 depending on completion of design and
availability of funds. New right-of-way and relocation of utilities
will be required. MDT staff will contact all affected landowners
prior to doing survey work on their land. Staff will again contact
landowners prior to construction regarding property acquisition and
temporary construction permits.
