Proposed Resurfacing Project on Interstate 90 South of Deer Lodge
DEER LODGE, MONTANA (May 5, 2020) — The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to
comment on a proposal to resurface of approximately 6.5 miles of
Interstate 90, near Deer Lodge. The project begins 0.5 miles south
of the South Deer Lodge Interchange and extends south for 6.5 miles
ending at The Racetrack Interchange.
Proposed work includes crack
seal, seal and cover (chip seal) of the driving lanes, fog seal on
the shoulders, guardrail, upgraded pavement markings, signing, and
delineation. The purpose of the project is to extend the service
life of the roadway, provide additional skid resistance, and take a
cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing roadway.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2021.
Project construction will depend on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
Right-of-Way or utility relocations will be needed.
