Proposed Project To Resurface State Primary Route 66/MT 66
HAYS to FORT BELKNAP, MONTANA (October 21, 2019) - The Montana
Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and seek
comments on a proposal to resurface about 24.4 miles of Highway State
Primary Route 66/MT 66, 5 miles south of Hays to approximately 14
miles south of Fort Belknap in Blaine County. The project begins at
reference post 10.6 and extends north for 24.4 miles, ending near
reference post 35.0.
Proposed work includes plant-mix surfacing
and/or crack seal with a seal and cover, and pavement markings.
Centerline and shoulder rumble strips will be replaced. The purpose
of the project is to extend the life of the roadway, improve the ride
and increase safety for the traveling public.
The project is
tentatively scheduled for construction in 2021, depending on
completion of all project development activities and availability of
