Montana Department Of Transportation To Construct Shared-Use
KALISPELL, Montana, (August 26, 2019) — The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public of the upcoming
construction of a new section of shared-use path along US Highway 93
adjacent to the Kalispell Youth Athletic Complex.
Construction Services from Kalispell will begin construction is on
September 9, 2019 and is anticipated to last approximately 6 weeks.
There will be minor shoulder closures and construction related
traffic along US Highway 93 as well as short-term closures to the
pedestrian tunnel just north of Four Mile Drive.
The path will begin
near the pedestrian tunnel under US Highway 93, just north of Four
Mile Road and proceed north approximately 0.2 miles and connect with
the shared-use path that was constructed in the Spring Prairie Phase
The work includes approximately 900 feet of
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant asphalt-surfaced
shared-use path, grading, safety rail, and revegetation. The purpose
of the project is to construct a shared-use path to provide
non-motorized users a safe and convenient connection to various paths
and sidewalks in the area.
