Bridge Rehabilitation Work Near Miles City

Bridge Rehabilitation work Near Miles City,

Beginning May 28th

Miles City, Montana (May 28, 2019) The Montana Department of
Transportation will begin working on a series of bridge
rehabilitation projects near Miles City in May. Work on the
Yellowstone Bridge on MT-59 north of Miles City began on May 28th.
The estimated completion date is early September. The start date for
the Ft. Keough Bridge overpass spanning I-94 will be determined by
progress on the Yellowstone Bridge.

 The Yellowstone Bridge on
MT-59 north of Miles City will receive a new bridge deck and updated
guardrail as part of regularly scheduled preservation activity.

The Ft. Keogh structure spanning I-94 is slated for deck resurfacing
activity later this summer.

Work on both structures will require
lane closures and 24-hour traffic control. Travelers are encouraged
to adjust their travel times accordingly and should expect
single-lane, one-way traffic controlled by portable signals, reduced
speed limits, and a 12-ft width restriction will be in effect on both
structures during construction activity.

The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to remind motorists to use caution
when driving through the construction zone. Motorists are advised to
watch for work crews, heavy equipment and reduced speed limits.
Posted limits are enforced until signs indicate the work zone has
ended.

The public is encouraged to contact Melvin Mader, Montana
Department (406)939-3187 with any questions regarding the project.
Plan ahead by calling 511 or visiting
