MDT Meetings and Events

Headwaters Rest Area Public Open House Scheduled

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) invites you to attend
either an in-person open house or a virtual public meeting to discuss
the Headwaters Rest Area project, which will include the construction
of a new rest area near Three Forks and the removal of the Bozeman
Rest Area. MDT and the Montana Rest Area JV Partners (a C.A. Rickert
and Associates Inc./Diamond Construction Joint Venture) team
representatives will be providing an overview of the new rest area
plan, including design features, safety plans, and the value that
rest areas serve to the traveling public. A timeline of the
construction will also be presented. Team members will be available
to answer any questions the public may have.

MDT and the Montana
Rest Area JV Partners team will be constructing a new rest area, to
be named Headwaters Rest Area, near Three Forks. The new facility
will be located approximately 3,000 feet north of I 90 on the west
side of US 287, just north of existing commercial development. This
new rest area will include many modern design and safety improvements
and will ultimately replace the dated and undersized rest area
located at the 19th Avenue interchange in Bozeman.
