Woodland Avenue & 2nd Street East/Conrad Drive Intersection

Informational Meeting to Discuss Woodland Avenue and 2nd Street
East/Conrad Drive Intersection Improvement Project

MONTANA – October 7, 2019 - The Montana Department of Transportation
(MDT) in coordination with the City of Kalispell would like to invite
the public and seek comment on a proposal to improve the Woodland
Avenue and 2nd Street East/Conrad intersection. The project is
generally located at the southwest corner of Woodland Park.

team members will be hosting an open house at the ImagineIF Flathead
County Library (247 1st Avenue East, Kalispell) on October 28, 2019
between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed design of the
project. Please note that this event is not sponsored by the Library.

An early feasibility study has identified a mini-roundabout as the
appropriate intersection control, the project will be entering the
design phase once the full feasibility study has completed. The
purpose of the project is to reduce the frequency and severity of
crashes, accommodate pedestrian and bicycle traffic, mitigate the
steep grade on the east leg of the intersection, and to the extent
possible, fit the improvements within the existing intersection and
right-of-way footprint.

An important part of properly planning
for future projects is partnering with the community. Montana
Department of Transportation welcomes the public to provide ideas and
comments on the proposed project. Comments may be submitted online at or in writing to Montana
Department of Transportation, Missoula office at PO Box 7039,
Missoula, MT 59807-7039. Please note that comments are for project
