of Transportation Proposes Study of Improvement Options on Montana
Highway 35 East of Kalispell
KALISPELL — The Montana
Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public
and seek comments on a proposal to study improvement options on a
segment of Montana Highway 35 east of Kalispell in Flathead County.
The study begins at reference post 48.1 about 0.2 miles west of the
Fairmont Road/Amdahl Lane intersection. The study extends westerly
for 3.0 miles and ends at reference post 51.1 at the intersection
with U.S. Highway 2.
The study will evaluate options for surfacing
rehabilitation and other improvements that may include minor roadway
widening for 6-foot shoulders, roadside slope flattening, the
improvement of drainage issues, upgrades to sidewalk and Americans
With Disabilities Act facilities where necessary, signing and
lighting upgrades, and localized roadbed stabilization. The results
of the study may lead to a design project that would develop plans
for a future construction project.
The study is currently scheduled
to be completed in late 2019.
