at Rodney Street and Intersection Review of 11th Avenue and Sanders

HELENA — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
upgrade the signal at Rodney Street and 11th Avenue. In addition, a
review of the intersection at Sanders Street and 11th Avenue will be
conducted to determine whether the current signal will be required to
meet the future needs of any development of the area.

Proposed work
at Rodney Street includes upgrading signal hardware and installing
Accessible Pedestrian Signal push buttons.

The purpose of the
project is to improve the operations for motorists and pedestrians at
Rodney Street and 11th Avenue in Helena and to review the necessity
of the signalized intersection at Sanders Street and 11th Avenue
based on future needs.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2021
depending on completion of design and availability of funds. New
right-of-way and relocation of utilities will be required. MDT staff
will contact all potentially affected landowners prior to performing
survey work on their land. Staff will again contact landowners prior
to construction regarding property acquisition and temporary
construction permits.
