The project was presented to the Montana Transportation Commission during their open and public meeting on December 12, 2019.
A Request for Interest (RFI) was advertised to the public on January 28, 2020. MDT received interest from three prospective design-builders.
Based on the positive response received from the RFI, MDT publicly advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) on June 1, 2020.
Two qualified design-build teams submitted their qualifications and were subsequently invited to submit a Technical Proposal and Price Proposal. The Request for Proposal was issued on September 3, 2020.
This project was awarded to Montana Rest Area JV Partners at a meeting of the Transportation Commission on April 22, 2021. Commission meeting are publicly advertised and open to the public.
Throughout project planning phases, public comment has been received from interested members of the public.
The Broadwater County subdivision permitting process allowed opportunity for public participation.
