Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Week

September 19, 2022

Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Week is September 18-14, 2022

Ensure your precious cargo is protected! Montana's certified Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technicians help educate parents, guardians, and caregivers about selecting the right car seat for their child's age and size, installing it in their vehicle and using the seat correctly every time.

Much like seat belts or other safety devices, car seats work best when used correctly. Did you know?

  • Most parents are confident that they have correctly installed their child's car seat, but in most cases (59%) the seat has not been installed correctly.
  • According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), about 26% of children ages 4 to 7 were prematurely moved to seat belts when they should have been riding in booster seats.

Make sure your child is in the right seat for their age and size. For a car seat check-up at any time, visit this page to find a CPS Technician and/or inspection station near you.
