Traffic Records Strategic Plan Implementation
In early 2004, the Montana State Highway Traffic Safety Office requested that NHTSA facilitate a traffic records assessment. The purpose was to determine whether Montana's traffic records system is capable of supporting management's need to identify the State's safety problems, to manage the countermeasures applied to reduce or eliminate those problems, and to evaluate those programs for their effectiveness.
The Traffic Records Strategic Plan Implementation (TRSPI) project was conceived to address key issues identified by NHTSA's 2004 assessment.
