Emergency Medical Services

Severe injuries (fatalities and incapacitating injuries) have decreased over 28% during the past 10 years (2001 to 2010). Seat belts, airbags, and child restraints may have accounted for part of this decrease, as well as other improvements in vehicle safety, engineering more forgiving roads, and quicker emergency medical service response times.
