I 15 - Custer and MRL Structures

Overview
Project consists for the replacement of the existing Custer Avenue overpass with a new Interstate 15 (I-15) interchange and the replacement of the Interstate bridges over Montana Rail Link (MRL) rail yard between the Cedar and Capital Interchanges.

The Custer Interchange portion includes a new bridge, on and off ramps, traffic control signals, widening Custer Avenue between the Montanan Avenue and Washington Street, realigning the I-15 frontage road north of Custer Avenue, and widening Cedar Street to a 5-lane between the Cedar Street Interchange and Montana Avenue.

The I-15 MRL Structures portion of the project includes the replacement of the existing I-15 bridges over the MRL rail yard and the addition of auxiliary lanes on the Interstate between Cedar Street and the Capitol Interchange.

Goal
Provide additional access to the Interstate and improve the existing roadways to accommodate traffic volumes.
