Montana Department of
Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for U.S. Highway 93 Near
Sula

HAMILTON The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would
like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
resurface about 8.9 miles of U.S. Highway 93 south of Sula in Ravalli
County. The project begins at the Montana/Idaho border at reference
post 0.0 and extends north for 8.9 miles, ending 3.9 miles south of
Sula at reference post 8.9.

Proposed work includes milling the
existing surface, applying a new asphalt overlay, and finishing with
a seal and cover (chip seal) and fog seal. The pavement markings, two
sections of guardrail, and signage will also be replaced.

The
purpose of the project is to take a cost-effective action to prolong
and preserve the existing pavement.

The project is tentatively
scheduled for construction in 2019, depending on completion of all
project development activities and availability of funding. No
property acquisition or utility relocations are anticipated.
