12 Southwest of Roundup
ROUNDUP — The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek
comments on a proposal to stabilize two eroded river bank locations
adjacent to the Musselshell River along U.S. Highway 12 (US-12) in
The two project sites are located on US-12
southwest of Roundup at reference post 159.0 and reference post
164.4. Proposed work includes slope work, armoring the river bank,
fencing, and revegetation.
The purpose of the project is to prevent
the Musselshell River from eroding the bank into the roadway during
future high-water events.
The project is anticipated to be ready for
construction in 2018 or 2019, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
