White Sulphur Springs - Safety Project At 2 Sites On U.S. 89

Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Safety Enhancement Project at Two
Locations on U.S. Highway 89

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS  The Montana
Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public
and seek comments on a proposal to complete safety improvements at
two locations on U.S. Highway 89 (U.S. 89) in Meagher County.
Proposed work at these two locations on U.S. 89 includes:

Site #1:
South of Neihart  Install guard rail from reference post (RP) 25.3
to RP 26.5. 
Site #2: North of White Sulphur Springs  Update curve
signing in four curves and replace cable rail with box beam between
RP 12.0 and RP 16.0. 

The purpose of this project is to address the
number and minimize the impacts of roadway departure crashes.

The
project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019, depending
on completion of all project development activities and availability
of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be
needed.
