Bozeman - Bridge Replacement Proposed For Montana Hwy 86

of Transportation Proposes Project to Replace Bridge on Montana
BOZEMAN — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
remove a bridge on Montana Highway 86 northeast of Bozeman in
Gallatin County. The project begins at reference post 9.0 and extends
northeast for 0.4 miles, ending near Jackson Creek Road at reference
Proposed work includes the removal of the structure at
reference post 9.4. This structure will be replaced with a culvert.
The new roadway will match the existing surface width. New signage
and guardrail will be installed.
The purpose of the project is to
reduce the number of crashes by improving signing at curves, removing
hazards within the roadway and to reduce crash severity by providing
guardrail to help prevent errant vehicles from leaving the roadway.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2019 depending on completion
of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or
relocation of utilities are anticipated.
