of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for Interstate 94 East
HYSHAM - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
resurface about 11.3 miles of Interstate 94 east of Hysham in
Treasure County. The project begins west of the Hysham Interchange at
reference post 67.0 and extends east for 11.3 miles, ending at the
Rosebud County line at reference post 78.3.
Proposed work includes
milling and paving the existing driving lane, performing a full-width
seal and cover (chip seal), bridge deck treatments, upgraded pavement
markings, rumble strips, signage, and guardrail upgrades. The purpose
of the project is to extend the life of the existing asphalt
surfacing and provide a safe roadway for the traveling public.
project is tentatively scheduled for construction beyond 2022. This
project may be constructed earlier depending on completion of all
project development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
