Kalispell - Resurfacing Project For Various City Roadways

Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for Various Roadways
in Kalispell

KALISPELL  The Montana Department of Transportation
(MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal
to resurface about 3.6 miles of urban roadways in the City of
Kalispell and in the Evergreen area. The project roadways are:


North Meridian Road beginning at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2
to the intersection of U.S. Highway 93
 East Center Street beginning
at the intersection of 4th Avenue East to the intersection of
Woodland Avenue
 7th Street West beginning at the intersection of
South Meridian Road to the intersection of 5th Avenue West
 7th
Avenue West beginning at the intersection of 11th Street West to the
intersection of West Center Street
 East Evergreen Drive beginning
at the intersection of LaSalle Road (U.S. Highway 2) to the
intersection of Helena Flats Road 

Proposed work on North Meridian
Road, East Center Street, and 7th Street West includes milling the
existing surface, applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal
and cover (chip seal), fog seal, and upgraded pavement marking.
Proposed work on 7th Avenue West and East Evergreen Drive includes a
seal and cover (chip seal) and fog seal. 

The purpose of the project
is to take a cost-effective action to prolong and preserve the
existing pavement.

The project is tentatively scheduled for
construction in 2018, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
