Billings - 1st Open House To Discuss Billings Bypass Project

of Transportation Schedules Open House Meetings to Discuss Billings
Bypass Project

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would
like to invite the public to attend one of two open house meetings to
receive updates about a new arterial roadway connecting Lockwood and
Billings Heights. 

The first open house is in Billings on Wednesday,
September 27, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Independent Elementary
School cafeteria, 2907 Roundup Road.

The second open house is in
Lockwood on Thursday, September 28, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the
Eileen Johnson Middle School Commons at the Lockwood School, 1932
U.S. Highway 87 East. 

Proposed work includes a new arterial roadway
that will connect Lockwood and the Billings Heights communities.
Construction will occur in segments, and the first segment is
tentatively planned to begin in 2019, depending on completion of
preconstruction activities and availability of funds.

work on their land. Staff will again contact landowners prior to
construction regarding property acquisition and temporary
construction permits.
