Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Pedestrian Crossing Safety Improvements on
Corvallis Roadways

CORVALLIS  The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek
comments on a proposal to install pedestrian crossing safety
improvements at the following three sites:

 Site 1: East Side
Highway (Secondary Highway 269) at the Primary School crosswalk in
Corvallis. Install flashing beacons, pedestrian crossing signs, and
pavement crossing markings.
 Site 2: East Side Highway between the
Edna Thomas School and the athletic field in Corvallis. Install
flashing beacons, pedestrian crossing signs, and pavement crossing
markings.
 Site 3: Woodside Cutoff Road (Secondary Highway 373) and
Old Corvallis Road west of Corvallis. Install flashing beacons,
pedestrian crossing signs, and pavement crossing markings.

The
project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2019, depending
on completion of all project development activities and availability
of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be
needed.
