of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for U.S. Highway 93
ARLEE — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to
notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to resurface about
5.8 miles of U.S. Highway 93 near Arlee in Missoula and Lake
counties. The project begins about 0.3 miles south of the McClure
Road intersection at reference post 12.7 and extends north for 5.8
miles, ending on the north side of Arlee at reference post 18.5.
Proposed work includes a seal and cover (chip seal) and fog seal for
the entire project length and upgrading pavement markings. The
purpose of the project is to take a cost-effective action to prolong
and preserve the existing pavement.
The project is tentatively
scheduled for construction in 2019, depending on completion of all
project development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
