Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Safety Project to Install Centerline
Rumble Strips on Various Roadways Throughout Eastern Montana

GLENDIVE  The Montana Department of Transportation would like to
notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to install
centerline rumble strips for the following locations:

Highway 335 in Dawson County from Reference Post (RP) 1.89 to RP 8.59
 Montana Highway 200 in Garfield County from RP 157.66 to RP 220.50
 Secondary Highway 489 in Custer County from RP 0.00 to RP 18.09

Secondary Highway 446 in Rosebud County from RP 0.00 to RP 2.69

Montana Highway 39 in Rosebud County from RP 0.70 to RP 4.24 and RP
12.24 to RP 51.22
 U.S. Highway 212 in Rosebud and Powder River
counties from RP 61.42 to RP 69.60 and RP 76.90 to RP 103.48
Highway 12 in Fallon County from RP 84.08 to RP 95.49

Proposed work
includes installing centerline rumble strips and finishing with a fog
seal and new centerline pavement markings. The purpose of the project
is to address lane departure crashes. New delineation will be
installed on Interstate 94 from RP 151.00 to RP 153.00 in Custer

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in
spring 2018, depending on completion of all project development
activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or
utility relocations will be needed.
