of Transportation Proposes Safety Project on Beaver Creek Road South
HAVRE — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
widen and slope flatten about 2.2 miles of Beaver Creek Road
(Secondary Highway 234) south of Havre at various locations in Hill
County. The project begins at reference post 4.2 and extends south
for 2.2 miles, ending near Butte Road at reference post 6.4.
Proposed work includes 2-foot shoulder widening, slope flattening,
and/or new guardrail adjacent to curves at various locations. The
purpose of the project is to address the frequency and severity of
single vehicle road departure crashes on the curves.
tentatively planned for 2020 depending on completion of design and
availability of funds. New right-of-way and relocation of utilities
may be required. MDT Staff will contact potentially affected
landowners prior to construction regarding property acquisition and
temporary construction permits.
