of Transportation Proposes Resurfacing Project for U.S. Highway 2
HAPPY’S INN — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would
like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to
resurface about 8.7 miles of U.S. Highway 2 between Happy’s Inn and
McGregor Lake. The project begins near the Lincoln/Flathead County
Line at reference post 80.7 and extends east for 8.7 miles, ending
near the Paradise Loop Road intersection at McGregor Lake at
reference post 89.4.
Proposed work includes a seal and cover (chip
seal), fog seal and upgraded pavement markings. The purpose of the
project is to take a cost-effective action to prolong and preserve
the existing pavement.
The project is tentatively scheduled for
construction in 2019, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
