Montana’s State Rail Plan - Coming Soon!

Be on the lookout for the draft 2009 Montana State Rail Plan available for public review and comment on MDT’s web site. Major Elements of the rail plan include state freight trends, lines at risk for abandonment, passenger rail service, Montana rail competition, and grain facility consolidation impact analysis.

MDT currently is working with Amtrak to complete the analysis of passenger rail along the southern route and will post this portion of the plan as a separate document for public review when completed.
