As the DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) Program Specialist, you will be responsible for accomplishing Federal – aid program objectives for the Montana Department of Transportation; fostering productive relationships within the department and with other partners and customers at State, Local and Tribal levels.
Day to day responsibilites of the program include the review of certification applications, conducting on site inspections with applicants, answering inquiries from prospective applicants and development and conducting of training to address the specific needs of the applicant firms.
You will represent the office of Civil Rights and the Directors office on federal aid program issues such as DBE eligibility recommendations, investigating charges of discrimination, compliance monitoring and managing data reporting functions for the program.

They are also responsible to enforce international, federal, and state commercial motor carrier laws at both fixed and mobile locations throughout Montana. MCS Enforcement Officers regulate and enforce law individually or with other officers, in densely populated and remote areas of the state. Officers have full autonomous decision-making authority on a wide range of regulation and enforcement issues, including height, width, and weight restrictions, vehicle licensing and motor fuel tax requirements, hazardous material transportation restrictions; and vehicle, operator, and load safety.
