The Montana Department of Transportation is hosting 2017's Highway-Rail Conference at the Radisson Hotel in Helena, MT.
The Montana Highway-Rail Conference is a collaborative event, allowing attendees to learn, ask questions, and network with partners in the highway and railroad industries. Representatives from the railroads, federal, state, consultants, and suppliers will be there discussing aspects of safety, design, and regulations involved in the rail industry and how this affects our highways and communities. There is no registration fee for this conference.

This year’s conference will be held at Helena’s Radisson Colonial Hotel, located in the industrial/business district just off of I-15/US-287. Its amenities and meeting facilities make the Radisson an ideal place to hold the Montana Highway Rail conference. For more information about the hotel and local area attractions, check their webpage. For those who may be flying into Helena, the hotel offers free 24-hour shuttle services to and from Helena Regional Airport (HLN) which is less than four miles away. Rental cars are also available at the airport.

If for some reason, the conference’s special reservations don’t come up, enter arrival date of August 28, 2017 and they should appear.
The Montana State Capital is the state capitol of the U.S. state of Montana. It houses the Montana State Legislature and is located in the state capital of Helena at 1301 East Sixth Avenue. The building was constructed between 1896 and 1902 with wing-annexes added between 1909 and 1912.

Great example of the architecture of the time. Beautifully maintained. Guides are very pleasant and knowledgeable. If you like history and buildings, this is a must stop while in Helena. Be sure to plan ahead, and check on scheduled times of operation.

Fun Slice of Old Time Helena. This is a very narrow walkway off the main street called Last Chance Gulch. The street is paved with bricks and the buildings are mostly made of bricks. Built by a mason in the late 1800s. The buildings provided housing for the male miners.
