Proposed Resurfacing Project For Highway 93 In Kalispell

Kalispell, Montana -- The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal
to resurface about 1 mile of Highway 93, in Kalispell, MT. The
project begins just north of the intersection with Grandview Drive
and extends north for 1 mile ending just south of the intersection of
US 93 Alternate Route and W. Reserve Drive.

Proposed work includes
resurfacing the roadway, upgrading the ADA accessibility of curb
ramps at intersections, improving roadway drainage across
intersections by installing valley gutters, sealing the shared-use
paths, and upgrading pavement markings and signage. The purpose of
the project is to take a cost-effective action to prolong and
preserve the existing pavement.

The project is tentatively scheduled
for construction in 2024, but could be sooner depending on completion
of all project development activities and availability of funding. No
new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.

An important
part of properly planning for future projects is partnering with the
community. The Montana Department of Transportation welcomes the
public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project.
