Proposed Resurfacing Project For Highway 1 Near Hall, MT

Philipsburg, Montana - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT)
would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal
to resurface about 7.5 miles of MT Highway 1 near Hall. The project
begins just north of Jensen Ranch Lane and extends north, ending
approximately 1.5 miles south of Drummond.

Proposed work includes
applying a chip seal, upgrading pavement markings and signage, and
installing guardrail and centerline rumble strips. The purpose of the
project is to take a cost-effective action to prolong and preserve
the existing pavement.

A construction timeframe has not yet been
planned for this project. It will depend on completion of design and
availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations
will be needed. As project development continues, and funding is
secured, more outreach to the public will take place.

An important
part of properly planning for future projects is partnering with the
community. The Montana Department of Transportation welcomes the
public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project.
