Chip Seal Project Planned For Highway 12, Meagher County

CHECKERBOARD, MONTANA (March 19, 2020) - The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to
comment on a proposal to chip seal about 14.1 miles of Highway 12,
southeast of Checkerboard.  The project begins at reference post 63.1
adjacent to Checkerboard and extends southeast for 14.1 miles ending
at the Wheatland County line at reference post 77.2.

Proposed work
includes chip sealing, new pavement markings, milling, paving, bridge
deck repair, and deck sealing. The purpose of the project is to
preserve and increase the life of the pavement and structures, as
well as provide increased traction.

The construction date will be
scheduled upon completion of all project development activities and
available funding. No new Right of Way or utility relocations will be
