Montana Department of Transportation Proposes Overlay Project for
Secondary 254, North of Glendive.



Glendive, Montana (July 26, 2019)
 The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify
the public and seek comments on a proposal to overlay about 9.4 miles
of Secondary 254, north of Glendive. The project begins at  the
intersection of MT 16 and Secondary 254, at reference post 0.0 and
extends northwest for 9.4  miles ending at reference post 9.4.


Proposed work includes applying a new overlay, a seal and cover (chip
seal), and upgrading pavement markings and signs.  The purpose of the
project is to extend the life of the highway and take a
cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing highway.


The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2020,
depending on completion of all project development activities and
availability of funding.



No new Right-of-Way or utility relocations
will be needed.
