The project is currently in the design stage and is split into two phases.

Phase 1 will replace the bridge over Box Elder Creek (near RP 20) ahead of the overall project, due to the structures age and increased maintenance costs. Construction of the new bridge began April 2019 and is anticipated for completion by late 2019.

Phase 2 of the project will reconstruct the remaining roadway and replace the bridge crossing North Fork Box Elder Creek (near RP 22) with a large concrete culvert and is targeted for reconstruction in 2021. Beginning fall 2019, MDT right-of-way agents will be contacting affected landowners to discuss right-of-way negotiations.
